Position Summary:

We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the design and delivery of high and extra-high voltage (69–500kV) transmission line projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience using PLS-CADD and a strong understanding of transmission line design standards.

The ideal candidate takes full ownership of their work, is driven to improve processes, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You will prepare construction documents, specifications, and design criteria while providing field support during construction and mentorship to junior staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships are essential. HVDC experience is a plus, and occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Job Duties:

  • Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
  • Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
  • Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
  • Provide field support during construction.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members.
  • Experience in HVDC is a plus.
  • Occasional travel to client and project locations will be expected.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • 3 years of related transmission line design experience.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Consulting or utility experience preferred.
