Job Description

What you will be doing:

• Support real estate transactions by providing a range of administrative and/or support duties to assist title processes.
• Review recordable documents for accuracy and completeness of required state/county forms.
• Submit documents through preferred recording method (county or electronic platform).
• Resolve minor issues and review signed loan and title company documents to ensure accuracy.
• Resolve various post-closing issues and manage the shipping of documents.
• Monitor a pipeline of loans to ensure critical documents are received and reviewed timely for disbursement.
• Prioritize a pipeline of loans to support Service Level Agreement targets.
• Communicate with local offices, notaries, and Signing Providers to receive signed documents timely.
• Complete a Compliance Review to confirm all funds are collected and verify the accuracy of all appropriate documents.
• Take ownership of resolving defects identified during the Compliance Review of critical documents.
• Drive resolution for the customer, agency, and client by engaging appropriate parties.
• Communicate the current status of each loan to internal and external partners.
• Become an expert in Stewart/Lender guidelines and knowledgeable regarding mortgage recording requirements.
• Deliver an accurate and error-free product to customers.
• Ensure that procedures are appropriately followed to minimize operational loss.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including the preparation of the ALTA Settlement Statement and other closing documents.

Experience you will need:

• 1-2 years of prior experience in the closing/processing area of a title company, the post-closing area of a financial institution, or the real estate loan documentation area of a financial institution.
• Customer service oriented.
• Able to handle confidential information.
• Thorough knowledge of transactional work and product/service standards.
• Ability to apply standards in nonstandard situations.
• Ability to apply company standards and applicable regulatory and statutory requirements related to the functional area.
• Basic Word/Excel skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to proactively resolve problems.
• Ability to operate within tight deadlines, have attention to detail, and be self-motivated.
