HR/ Labor Relations Specialist
W2 local to downtown Los Angeles - work is on site
Our direct client currently has a temporary opening for an Employee Relations Specialist (HR Specialist/Labor) for Their Human Resources Department at their Headquarters downtown Los Angeles. This is 44/36 with every other Friday off. Required to be in the office daily. Work hours begin at 7:00am 4:30pm.
This assignment expectation is 6 months and may extend with a good chance to be converted to a direct hire.
Please note this position requires the successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and employment and education verification prior to starting work.
We are looking for a Human Resources/ Employee Labor Relations Specialist who's experienced, and who will use excellent judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as policies, regulations, precedents, and work directions for specific cases or problems based on analysis of the subject and course of action selected from various alternatives. The successful candidate will conduct their daily business in a professional manner with internal and external Legal counsel teams.
Additional responsibilities include researching assigned aspects of law and arbitral precedent related to contract proposals, grievance cases and may present case information in administrative forums or related hearings. Prepares graphs, charts, tables, and summarizes the economic implications of management and labor contract proposals.
The following are required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years relevant experience.
Knowledge of: Labor relations and Human Resources Principles
Must maintain confidentiality
Experience in acting as lead in investigations
Advanced MSOffice and Administrative duties
Know and understand Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) laws, Rules, and regulations
Experience working in a union environment
Personable, Flexible and handle pressure zones well.
Detail orientation, organized, multitask, strong written and verbal communication skills a must.
Valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment.
