Job Title: Commercial Project Division (CPD) Manager
Location: Remote (Must be near a commercial airport)
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Commercial Project Division (CPD) Manager to join our team! This position is focused on the markets in the USA and Canada and offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional training events and meetings held in various states and at our headquarters in Batavia, Illinois. You will report directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and should expect travel up to 30%, including overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
Lead and expand our Commercial Project Division (CPD) by collaborating closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Managers, and Technical Sales Support Managers.
Develop effective sales strategies and architectural plans to drive growth in the CPD market.
Foster relationships with architects, designers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote our products and influence project specifications.
Create and implement educational programs for architects and contractors to establish long-term partnerships and ensure the continued use of our products.
Architectural/Engineering
Serve as the primary point of contact for architects, specifiers, designers, and engineers on projects in the US and Canada.
Maintain and update regional and national specifications with the support of our field sales representatives.
Provide educational sessions, specification reviews, installer referrals, and technical support for ongoing projects.
Participate in local architectural organizations and maintain a detailed call log to track customer interactions.
Technical Specifications
Demonstrate proficiency in waterproofing and tile backer board products and applications.
Secure product specifications for construction projects through effective meetings, presentations, and Continuing Education events (CEU).
Keep our Master Specification Booklet and Technical Data Sheets updated, along with other project administration tools.
Quoting Projects
Assess product types and quantities needed for project scopes to prepare accurate price quotes.
Present and track project quotes with distribution channels, architects, and contractors.
Distributors
Support our distributor network and their architectural sales teams through product and sales training.
Collaborate regularly with dedicated architectural sales teams to drive success.
Customer Database
Utilize lead provision software and our call log system to track account and project opportunities effectively.
Maintain an updated call log daily and provide detailed weekly activity reports.
Trade Shows
Represent our company at regional and national architectural and industry-related trade shows.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective promotional materials, displays, and advertisements.
Skills & Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in outside or architectural sales is essential.
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
Strong financial, change, and conflict management abilities.
Familiarity with architectural specifications and construction design elements is required.
Experience with building products or flooring installation is essential.
High energy and enthusiasm for the business, along with a customer-driven, professional attitude.
Excellent analytical, organizational, listening, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and present effectively to large groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, Outlook, and the internet.
Willingness to travel up to 50% with overnight stays.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands for this role include the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone. You should be able to frequently sit and reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Education:
A minimum of a four-year college degree is required.
